Owner & Coach

Christy Frank is a gymnastics coach, program leader, and mentor based in Buena Vista, Colorado, with a passion for developing both strong athletes and strong programs. With a foundation in gymnastics and an expanding focus on circus and aerial arts, she creates training environments that build discipline, confidence, resilience, and mental toughness through movement.

As a parent herself, Christy understands the importance of creating a program where children feel challenged, supported, and valued. Both of her children attend classes at AVA, giving her a personal connection to the experience families have within the gym and reinforcing her commitment to building a positive, welcoming community for athletes of all ages.

Christy’s passion extends beyond coaching athletes to building programs where both students and staff can thrive. She believes gymnastics is a vehicle for teaching much more than physical skills—it develops leadership, perseverance, teamwork, independence, and the confidence to step outside of comfort zones. Through intentional coaching, thoughtful program design, and high standards for both staff and athletes, Christy is committed to helping young people reach their potential and develop the skills and character they will carry with them throughout life.

I am Amber and I am a born and raised native here in Buena Vista. I began participating in gymnastics here in 1st grade and continued all the way through competing in high school. I went off to school for Cosmetology in the city after high school.  When my husband and I decided to settle back in Buena Vista our kids were very young, and I got them into gymnastics and I did some coaching at this time as well. My husband and I started our own business outfitting hunt and fishing, here in the valley and I had to step away from coaching to help run the business, take care of our horses.  My daughter has been participating in Gymnasts here for a few years and joined the competition team this last year. So, I decided I would like to get back to coaching as it has always been a passion of mine to be involved in gymnastics since I was a child.  I look forward to getting to know the young athletes and helping them grow and develop their skills. 

Coach - Aerial Silks

Cassi is from Fort Collins, Colorado. She grew up doing lots of activities, such as dance, soccer, and snowboarding. In college, she was introduced to aerial silks and continues to practice them to this day. After college, she moved to Buena Vista to be a camp counselor and began coaching skiing and snowboarding. She quickly realized her passion for teaching sports and outdoor activities. Over the course of 3 years, she attained snowboard teaching certifications, including Child Specialist 2. Cassi started coaching and performing aerials in 2022. She is excited to work with kids on their aerial and gymnastics skills with AVA!

Coach - Dance & Preschool

I’m from Austin, TX where I was a student at Ballet Austin for over ten years. I branched out to hip hop, musical theatre, jazz and tap and joined any performing opportunity I could. I’ve danced with two different dance companies and had the opportunity to choreograph fro various shows. I moved to Colorado in 2015 and taught horseback riding at a summer camp in Buena Vista over several summers, as well as taught dance classes to various age groups through the community center. I moved to Denver in 2018 and taught various dance classes for Belliston Dance Academy and Mountain Performing Arts. In 2021 I moved back to Buena Vista with my growing family and I’m very excited to be a part of this community and share my love of movement and art”

Skylar is from Green Bay, Wisconsin. Gymnastics has always been a huge part of her life; competing until level 9 and coaching for the past 11 years. She absolutely loves sharing her passion with all gymnasts. She has an exercise science degree with a medical emphasis, and enjoys using that background to help with gymnastics. Outside of coaching, she enjoys hiking, running, playing soccer, and anything outdoors. Extra points if it’s something she can do with her dog!

Coach – Preschool, Rec Gymnastics

Nicole grew up in Buena Vista, where her passion for gymnastics began at a young age. Inspired by her older sister, who introduced her to the sport, Nicole trained throughout middle school and high school, developing a deep love for gymnastics. After graduating high school, Nicole pursued her academic interests at Adams State University, earning a degree in Biochemistry. She later completed her Master’s in Biomedical Sciences at Regis University in Denver. Now a proud mother of two, Nicole recently returned to the Valley to be closer to family. When her daughter joined preschool gymnastics this summer, Nicole was inspired to return to the sport she’s always loved — this time as a coach. She is excited to share her passion and knowledge with a new generation of young gymnasts.

Originally from Waco, Texas, Tanna moved to Buena Vista in March 2025 to work full-time at Trail West. She has a lifelong love for movement, performing, and being part of a team, with experience in both competitive dance and drill team. Her dance background includes ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, contemporary, kick line, and pom. Throughout her dance experience, Tanna has also had the opportunity to choreograph in a variety of styles and coach dancers, in which she discovered a passion for encouraging others, investing in their growth, and celebrating their accomplishments.

She loves creating a fun, encouraging environment where kids feel confident trying new things, learning new skills, and challenging themselves. She is looking forward to getting to know each athlete, learning alongside them, and helping them discover just how capable they are!
